Senior Sales Manager

Own our core European market and build the client relationships that fuel our growth.

The Role

We're a second-generation family business in Aachen that helps large-scale printers, packagers, and bookbinders worldwide optimize their machine parks — from single equipment replacements to entire production line installations. Our clients are companies like Bertelsmann, SmurfitWestrock, GraphicsPackaging, and Cimpress. Our CRM tracks 18,000+ companies in your territory alone.

DACH is our strongest market by revenue — but it's run by the Managing Director alongside everything else. As we expand into North America and build new business units, we need someone who takes full ownership of our European core: Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and Italy.

This isn't a greenfield role. You'll inherit an active client base with real order history and a pipeline of warm leads. But there's significant untapped potential — particularly in Germany, where we have dozens of mapped prospects but minimal coverage today.

What You'll Do

Client Relationships & Sales

  • Own the full sales cycle for printing and packaging machinery in DACH + Italy — from first contact to signed contract and project handover

  • Manage and grow relationships with existing accounts, proactively advising clients on equipment upgrades, replacements, and process optimization

  • Develop new business, focusing on large-scale operations (€40M+ revenue) across commercial printing, packaging, and bookbinding

Market Development

  • Build Italy and Switzerland into active markets — we have the data and the leads, you bring the relationships

  • Attend and represent Allaoui at key trade shows (drupa, Hunkeler Innovationdays, and regional events)

  • Identify sourcing opportunities — when clients upgrade, their existing machines become inventory for us

Advisory & Project Delivery

  • Act as a trusted advisor, not just a salesperson — understand the client's production, recommend the right solution, and see it through

  • Coordinate with our service and logistics teams to deliver turnkey projects

  • Feed market intelligence back into the business — what are clients asking for, what's shifting in the market

What We're Looking For

  • +5 years in machinery sales, ideally in the printing, packaging, or graphic arts industry. You know what a Heidelberg XL 106 is — and you know who buys them

  • Existing network in DACH — you've sold to production managers, operations directors, or C-level at mid-to-large printers. Bonus if you have contacts in Italy

  • Consultative selling — you understand a client's production before you pitch a machine. You think in solutions, not product specs

  • Languages — fluent German and English are required. Italian is a strong plus. French, Dutch, or other European languages are welcome

  • Travel-ready — expect 30–40% travel across your territory, plus occasional international trips

  • Digitally comfortable — we run on a proprietary CRM with AI-supported workflows, not spreadsheets and gut feel
